Forestry England invites your views on our draft plans for habitat restoration at Whinlatter and Dodd Wood. The proposals are across three sites at Dodd Wood, Hobcarton and Sanderson Gill in the Lake District.

What happens next

The consultation will close at midnight on 6th July 2025. All responses will be summarised and included in a consultation report along with our response to the key issues raised and published here on the consultation portal. Consultation feedback and further surveys will help shape the design proposal we will submit to the Forestry Commission for regulatory review ahead of starting the habitat restoration.
