Rushy Knowe Woodland Creation

Closed 16 Dec 2018

Opened 3 Dec 2018

Overview

The project comprises afforestation of two areas of rough, agricultural grazing land called Rushy Knowe and Mounces at Kielder Forest in Northumberland.

Our proposal to plant circa 100ha of new productive woodland represents an exciting opportunity to create a modern-day well-designed and financially viable area of public forest.

We would like to invite you or your organisation to leave some feedback on our proposal. This forms part of our consultation with stakeholders, which helps to ensure that we achieve an appropriate balance of objectives and have considered important site features.

Why your views matter

As part of the planning process for woodland creation, we are keen to get feedback on our proposal. This forms part of the Environmental Impact Assessment for the site which considers the potential impacts of the proposal on the wider environment. We are therefore asking for your feedback to ensure the proposal is considered and balanced, and takes into account the wider environment and landscape features in the area.

The draft Woodland Creation proposal is available to download below in PDF format.

This part of the consultation will run for 14 days until 16/12/18.

Any comments should be submitted through the online survey form before the closing date. Feedback received after the closing date may not be able to be considered.
