Overview

Forestry England manages and cares for the nation’s woods and forests. As England’s largest land manager, we shape landscapes andenhanceforests for people to enjoy, wildlife to flourish and businesses to grow.

Forestry England are working on designs for a new woodland on land we have recently bought at Hoarthorns Farm, next to Forestry England’s existing woodland at Ninewells, between Berry Hill and Edge End, near Coleford, in the Forest of Dean.

You can view the location and the boundary of the new woodland (marked in black) by scrolling on the image below.

Why your views matter

These exciting changes will be happening soon.  Before we can plant any trees, we’d like to hear your views on what you would like us to consider as we develop our designs for the new woodland.

What happens next

Your feedback, as well as site surveys, will help shape how the new woodland could look and we will share our draft proposals with you in a public consultation Spring 2025.
