Fineshade Forest Plan Consultation 2019

Closes 8 Nov 2019

Opened 4 Oct 2019

Overview

Forest plans define the long term vision for a woodland or a collection of woodlands and set out how management will move towards achieving this vision over the next ten years.

We would like to invite feedback on the proposed Fineshade Forest Plan. The Fineshade Forest Plan (FP) summarises proposals by Forestry England for the management of Fineshade Woods (499ha), Wakerley Woods (261ha) and Southwick Woods (390ha) in Northamptonshire.

This online questionnaire forms part of a consultation with stakeholders that helps to ensure that we achieve an appropriate balance of objectives.

Why We Are Consulting

It is a requirement that all Forestry England woodlands are managed to the high standards needed to meet the Forest Stewardship Council ® (FSC®) and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification™ (PEFC™). All Forestry England’s forests and woods are independently certified as sustainably managed, to continue to benefit future generations.

UK Woodland Assurance Standard that in turn ensures sustainable forest management certification of the Public Forest Estate is maintained.

The forest plan is available to download as a PDF below or alternatively viewable online within the Survey. There is also a hard copy which can be viewed at the Fineshade Visitor centre, Corby and Stamford reference libraries.

The online consultation will run until the 8th November 2019. Any comments should be submitted through the online survey form before the closing date. Feedback received after the closing date can not be considered.
