High Lodge Cycle Trails Review
Overview
We are currently reviewing the cycle trails at High Lodge and would like your feedback on our current offer and ideas for future trail developments.
We work with the cycle volunteer group TIMBER to maintain our 38 miles of MTB trails which includes the forest track graded Shepherd trail, Blue graded Poacher trail and the two single track red graded Beater and Lime burner trails. We also have 7 black graded pits and many miles of wild trails for the more adventurous explorers.
It’s worth remembering that whilst providing this service we work to balance the ecological, archaeological, other recreational use and the operational requirements for managing the forest.
Why your views matter
High Lodge is a popular destination set in the heart of Thetford Forest, attracting over 400,000 visitors each year. The cycle trails are a key attaction to High Lodge offering a safe off-road biking experience for varying abilities.
So with this in mind to help us continue to provide a variety of quality trails and identify where improvements could be made we would be grateful if you would complete this survey.
What happens next
Once this consultation comes to an end on 15th September 2013, we will consider the feedback given and look to use it where possible to help inform decisions about future developments for trails.
Progress on this will be comunicated through our website http://www.forestry.gov.uk/highlodge
