Bardney Limewoods Forest Plan 2025 Consultation

Closed 23 Jul 2025

Opened 23 Jun 2025

Overview

We would like to invite feedback on the proposed Bardney Limewoods Forest Plan.

The Bardney Limewoods are a cluster of fragmented woodlands totalling 1320.8ha, They straddle the East and West Lindsey Local Authorities about 12km east of Lincoln City, mostly lying between Wragby and Bardney with outliers of Wickenby to the north west and Horsington & Stixwould to the south east.

Forest plans define the long term vision for a woodland or a collection of woodlands and set out how management will move towards achieving this vision over the next ten years.

This online questionnaire forms part of a consultation with stakeholders that helps to ensure that we achieve an appropriate balance of objectives.

Why your views matter

It is a requirement that all Forestry England woodlands are managed to the high standards needed to meet the Forest Stewardship Council ® (FSC®) and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification™ (PEFC™). All Forestry England’s forests and woods are independently certified as sustainably managed, to continue to benefit future generations.

The forest plan is available to download as a PDF below and can be viewed as part of the questionnaire.

The online consultation will run until 23rd July 2025. Any comments should be submitted through the online survey form before the closing date. Feedback received after the closing date will not be considered.

What happens next

This online Stakeholder Consultation closes on the 23rd July 2025. We will then examine the feedback and, where appropriate, incorporate suggestions into the forest plan.

The forest plan will then be submitted to the Forest Services, the regulatory arm of the Forestry Commission, and placed on the public register to run concurrently with the public consultation. Subject to feedback approval will be obtained from Forest Services.

The approved plan will be made available on the Forestry England's website at www.forestryengland.uk/forest-planning
